Yuzen refers to traditional Japanese patterns and designs that were used in the practice of dyeing fabric to make kimonos. Today these designs are recreated using the silkscreen process. Each sheet of Japanese Yuzen paper is silkscreened with 4-5 colors and finished with gold overlays. My sources for paper include: Mulberry Paper and More and The Paper Place.
